Interview with Jeroen J

1. How did you start as a tattoo artist?
   My girlfriend arranged for my birthday that, with the guidance of another tattoo artist, I could give her a tattoo. Fortunately, it turned out well (we're still together), and I was able to start my apprenticeship with that tattoo artist right away.
2. What inspires your work?
   It can be anything: movies, music, art, but mainly nature. There's nothing I enjoy more than tattooing animals in combination with other elements from nature.
3. What styles are you most skilled in?
   I specialise in the Neo-Traditional style. It's also the only style I work in now, as I enjoy it the most. In short, Neo-Traditional is a fusion of Traditional/Old-School and Realism.
4. Can you describe the creative process behind TRIBE's design?
   It came very naturally. After speaking with Nick and the Zamnesia team, I immediately had a vision of how everything should look. I was given the freedom to work in my own style. The theme I was asked to work on also aligns perfectly with my own work.
5. How did you choose the elements for the design?
   I was mainly inspired by different cultures from all over the globe, specifically ones focusing on nature and animals. The natural world plays a significant role, and this theme aligns with Zamnesia's ethos of providing “the best Mother Nature has to offer”. I wanted the animal designs to reflect this, creating an authentic TRIBE look.
6. What makes this design unique or special for you?
   Giving the animals a “TRIBE” look, as if they are from an indigenous tribe, really turned them into characters. Combining Zamnesia elements, like mushrooms, hemp leaves, etc., adds a unique appearance.
