Why Women Should Definitely Smoke Weed
As weed use gets more and more accepted around the globe, it is time for female stoners to step up and share their love for this herb with us all. There are many reasons why women can benefit from smoking weed and in this article we explore some important ones.
Over the past few years, smoking cannabis has become a more and more accepted activity, not taking into account the many medicinal benefits it holds. As more and more countries loosen their weed laws, this trend will continue and progress. Sadly, the cannabis community is still associated with mainly male smokers.
But that is changing right now! With the growing acceptance of smoking marijuana, the amount of women who proudly admit that they use weed for various reasons, and take part in the cannabis culture, is rapidly increasing. That's really good news! We need all female stoners to stand up and show their love for this marvellous herb to display the diversity of our movement, abolish stereotypes and further support legalisation.
WOMEN SHOULD FALL IN LOVE WITH CANNABIS FOR VARIOUS REASONS
Examples of strong females who come out and tell the world that they participate in the cannabis culture include numerous celebrities. Rihanna may be the most upfront with her love for weed (just look at her Instagram), but ladies like Natalie Portman, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Anniston and Kirsten Dunst also enjoy it and aren't afraid to tell the world.
Whoopi Goldberg uses marijuana to cope with her glaucoma, Paris Hilton was once arrested for marijuana possession, Cameron Diaz bought weed from Snoop Dogg back in High School, the Suicide Girls even have their own strains now, and Melanie Griffith would smoke with her kids if they wanted to. And these are only the tip of the iceberg. Expect more and more female celebrities to openly admit to smoke cannabis in the years to come.
In this article, we have a closer look at some of the reasons why women smoke or definitely should smoke weed. Some of them can easily be applied to all genders, but some are specific to the beautiful stoner ladies out there.
ALLEVIATE PMS PAIN AND ANXIETY
Many women experience heavy symptoms like cramps and headaches when they get their period. Besides prescription medication, there is no real relief to be had. But the good news is that a lot of women report that cannabis helps with their PMS pain.
THC has been found to alleviate all symptoms associated with PMS like nausea, bloating and headaches. Therefore, it is not only a natural alternative to prescription drugs, but it is also more effective in treating premenstrual pain.
A rather difficult topic is cannabis and morning sickness because there is a huge lack of studies regarding smoking weed during pregnancy. Women are really left on their own here. While some say that using cannabis during pregnancy increases the risk of the fetus developing cognitive impairment, others anecdotally report of a relief of morning sickness.
There is no real helpful comment to make here. Hopefully, the future will bring more insights into this topic. Till then, we would recommend you stay away from cannabis if pregnant.
Studies show that women are twice as likely to suffer from anxiety as men. Likewise, the most common self-reported reason for using cannabis is to battle anxiety, stress and tension. The cannabinoid receptors in the amygdala are responsible for this effect.
In this area, the brain regulates anxiety and the fight-or-flight response. Cannabis is helpful for women to "turn their brains off" once in a while, stop worrying and relax. But - as with many conditions - finding the right strain is key here. Some racy sativas may increase your anxiety rather than lower it.
CHILLED PERSONALITY
This point works together with all the aforementioned and undermentioned. If you get stress and anxiety relief from smoking weed, then you probably are more chilled-out. Cannabis helps to stop worrying and therefore gives you a calmer state of mind. Moreover, our lives are so busy and stressed-out that we need some kind of balance to counteract this effect.
Otherwise, most of us would go crazy and insane. Sometimes, you just have to ignore all responsibilities and take a break from reality. Some girls have a negative perception of their appearance or their self-image so cannabis can be a great way of focusing on the positive and calm them down.
CURBING WEIGHT GAIN
Like said above, sometimes women can be insecure about the way they look, and their weight. That's not a good thing at all, and we like to emphasise that we love all kinds of body shapes and sizes! But it should not withhold that cannabis has been linked to having a lower BMI - more research is needed, but there could be potential. While this doesn't eliminate the need for a healthy diet or exercising, it is an interesting fact to keep in mind.
BETTER SEX
Weed makes everything better and more intense, and sex is no exception here. This is true for men as well, but only to an extent - for men, too much THC can actually be a sex drive killer.
Research shows that marijuana has an aphrodisiac effect for many women, being capable of reducing inhibitions and increasing the strength of orgasms. It causes women to let their guards down by lowering anxiety (like shown above).
Cannabis makes for a fuller sexual experience and lets girls feel relaxed, comfortable and sexy which leads to a higher quality of their orgasm. But it does not only increase the quality of sex; it enhances sexual desire in general.
OVERALL HAPPINESS
This too interacts and builds on all the aforementioned things. If a woman doesn't feel stressed, is relaxed, doesn't suffer pain from PMS, feels confident with her body and has great sex, you can bet that she is way happier in her life in general. And don't we all want strong, independent and happy women in the world because they make it a better place?
IT DOESN'T STOP HERE
The reasons we explored are only a few (but important ones) of many why women should definitely smoke weed. It can help them with a lot of problems and conditions in a way that other things just can't. The dream of every stoner is to be in a relationship with someone who loves cannabis as much as they do.
If more and more female tokers come out with their passion for weed, that dream is in reach. Using marijuana can improve many lives and if you are a lady that was a bit unsure or shy about her cannabis use, now is the time to fully endorse it and share this love with the world! You may be surprised how many good things will follow.
