The Best Secret Spots To Hide Your Cannabis Stash
Stashing your weed can be tricky, especially if you live with people who are not cannabis-friendly. So here are a few ideas to get you going.
In an ideal world, we would all live in weed-friendly households, with friends, housemates, and family who don’t mind that you enjoy a smoke every now and again. While some may be fortunate enough to be living this dream, there are many out there you have to hide their habit, and more importantly their stash, from those around them. So here is a list of the five best places to stash your cannabis around the house.
Considerations Before Hiding Your Stash
Before we get into the list itself, there are a few tips and considerations that will need to be taken into account for all hiding locations.
The first and foremost consideration is the smell. No matter where you stash your marijuana, if someone gets a whiff of its pungent aroma, they will likely be able to root it out. As such, the number one priority is to find a container that traps the smell of your weed completely. If you need something that isn’t bulky and is versatile enough to fit in tight or small hiding places, then air-tight smell-proof bags will be best.
The next point is that your weed should be stashed somewhere that no one in your household has any need to check or access, minimising the risk of discovery.
The Best Places To Hide Your Stash
Looking for the ideal secret location to stash your cannabis at home? Here are few ideas.
Use Camouflaged Stash Gear
We are talking about something only used by you that can hide in plain sight, such as an empty deodorant bottle, a personal shampoo bottle, a vitamin bottle, household cleaner, or anything similar. You just need to make sure that it has an easily removable lid (so it doesn’t look tampered with), and that it is an item no one else in your household will use. Have a look at the examples below.
THE TOILET BRUSH
Do you have a basic, nondescript toilet brush in your bathroom or ensuite (if you are lucky), then maybe consider replacing it with this. It is a basic, functional toilet brush with a secret sealable compartment underneath. It is something that is unlikely to get moved about or used on a super regular basis, so there should be very little cause for your stash to be found – especially if you are the one who does the majority of the cleaning. Just make sure the initial purchase/change is likely to go unnoticed.
Hiding your stash in secretive and inventive ways can be tricky at first, but with the above examples, you should hopeful have no problem. You could even try devising your own solution, the only limit is your imagination.
Car cigarette lighter
This nifty little device replaces the cigarette lighter in your car. Fitting perfectly into the space, this object has a fundamental difference: it's actually a well-disguised stash! Unscrew the top, hide your valuables in it, and slot it into the cigarette lighter's space. What's better than hiding in plain sight?
Stash hair brush
Looking (and functioning) like a common hair brush, this is kind of a two-in-one object. Unscrew the handle, hide what needs to be hidden, and screw it back on. You can take it everywhere with you, and nobody will ever suspect what's hiding inside!
Hide Your Stash Outdoors
Perhaps the in-laws have the annoying habit of visiting your apartment by surprise, or maybe you have a roommate that has trouble distinguishing his stash from yours and you, therefore, find your own stash depleted on the regular.
In any case, it could be a good idea to take advantage of the surrounding natural environment. As long as you keep your weed in a water and airtight container or bag, such as a Noaks Zip Bag, then you will be good to go. Hide your stash under a stack of rocks, in a flowerbed, or go big and head for the bushes.
MAKE A FALSE-BOTTOMED DRAWER
If you have a basic knowledge of DIY and are willing to take matters into your own hands, then constructing a false-bottomed draw can be an excellent way to hide a stash. It will make your weed virtually undetectable, and only those specifically looking for it would likely notice – you just need to be willing to flex those DIY muscles. We have put together a quick and easy-to-follow guide on how to construct your own right here.
USE OLD ELECTRONICS
Unused electronics, such as an old radio, phone or PC, are ideal for storing your stash in - many of these are simply kept around as a spare, but never actually used. Ideally you want something that has a battery compartment or an easy to open cases, giving easy access.
Just make sure that whatever you put it in, it is never actually used or plugged in anymore. You do not want a live electric current flowing through it and melting the container your cannabis in; not only will this wreck your stash, but it is also a major fire hazard.
Alternatively, you could use the small box your phone or some other peripheral came in. A lot of people keep them to store headphones, instructions manuals, and the other junk that comes with it, so it is not unusual to see around, and people are unlikely to open it up.
