If you like barbecuing, we have the recipe for you! Check out how to make your very own marijuana infused BBQ sauce, all from scratch!
There is nothing better than sitting out in your garden, enjoying the sun, having a few drinks, and cooking a BBQ. Whether you live in a city or out in the countryside, there is always somewhere you can go to kick back and enjoy the summer.
To help you prepare, we have devised a way for you to combine this love of outdoor cooking with the herb. Below is our recipe to make your very own cannabis infused BBQ sauce – made from scratch. No matter what you are eating – meat, vegetables or tofu – you can use this potent sauce to add a little buzz to your food.
To begin with, you will either need a stove and cooking pan, or better yet, a crockpot, (we will write as if a crockpot is being used).
1. First, grind your cannabis into as fine a powder as you can.
2. Put your cannabis, a splash of water, oil, onions and lime juice into the pot.
3. Cook it at a low setting on your crockpot for at least 90 minutes, stirring occasionally. You do not want to bring the mixture to a boil.
4. Next add in the rest of your ingredients and mix it all up.
5. Turn the heat up to medium so that the mixture begins to gently simmer. This will ensure that the cannabis becomes decarboxylated, and the THC within it active.
6. Continue to cook the mixture, stirring occasionally, for an additional 45 minutes.
7. The sauce should begin to reduce. Once it has reached a consistency you would like, turn off the crockpot and take a taste.
8. Season with salt and pepper as you like.
9. Store in an airtight container in your fridge.
10. Enjoy!
Generally speaking, a few tablespoons of this sauce should be enough to get you comfortably buzzing, but everyone is different, and the type of cannabis used will largely affect the strength. The sauce is suitable for both basting and for use as a condiment, just remember, edibles take up to an hour to kick in, so don’t go overboard! When refrigerated, this sauce will last up to a couple of weeks.
