Playadito is an Argentinean classic. This loose-leaf mate tea is sourced from Misiones, Argentina, an epicentre of mate production. Harvested early, cut loosely, and mixed with mate stems (palo), Playadito boasts a mild, slightly acidic, and long-lasting flavour. A huge part of South American culture, mate is used as a digestive, a powerful stimulant (likened to coffee), and treasured for its unique flavour. Mate can be enjoyed bitter (amargo) on its own, or sweet (dulce) with sugar, honey, or artificial sweetener. Remember to drink your mate at the right the temperature to preserve its flavour; 75ºC is the ideal temperature for mate, according to Argentina's Instituto Nacional de la Yerba Mate.
