Velvet Octane descends from a lineage of pure indica specimens from the legendary Hindu Kush mountain range. One of her parent strains—Afghan OG—features 100% pure indica genetics and a deeply stoning indica high. Velvet Octane’s breeders decided to add a little sativa to the mix to dilute the indica effects and bring some mental stimulation to the fore.

They harnessed the sativa prowess of Geist OG to provide some cerebral energy and offset the otherwise obliterating body stone. Velvet Octane emerged from this combination with 70% indica genetics and 30% sativa—a perfect ratio for indica lovers who want to stay active and awake during the day.

Velvet Octane grows in a robust and bushy manner. She forms a dense and wide canopy filled with an abundance of bud sites. Train and tame her early on to ensure maximum yields further down the line. Low-stress training serves as an excellent way to keep the canopy uniform.

Indoor plants are easy to manage, and around seven plants can be cultivated per square metre. Add a touch of defoliation, and you’ll be well on your way to maxing this strain out. Expect a yield of 450–600g/m².

Outdoor plants display Velvet Octane’s full genetic potential. Watch her sativa side take over and send each specimen 4m skyward. Try your best to remove excess fan leaves to allow light to penetrate the canopy, and use bamboo canes to keep the large and weighty branches supported. You’ll be pulling in 1–4kg/plant at the end of the season.

Each of these purple-green colas features a heavy dusting of glandular trichomes. THC levels peak at 21% and synergise with high levels of myrcene to deliver a stoning body high that soothes the body and mind simultaneously. Enjoy flavours of diesel, spice, pepper, and citrus with every inhalation.
