Mr. Nice – Nordle: Superb Old-School Genetics

Oldschoolers who had been fortunate enough to smoke back in the 60s and 70s will likely tell you that hashish back then was incredible. The best of the best hash came from tea-houses in Afghanistan. What made this old-school hash so different back then was clear just from looking at it. It had an amazingly pure texture and colour and was incredibly sticky. And then of course there was the sweet taste and a high that was just out of this world. The hash back then was indeed so fantastic that it was worthy of a King. The ruler of Afghanistan himself, King Saber Shah, is said to have been a hash connoisseur himself.

This all changed when the Russians invaded Afghanistan back in the mid 1970s. They ousted the hash-loving King, a move that didn’t just prove bad for the whole country of Afghanistan but also and in particular for the famed Afghani hashish. Once pure and made from the best resin only, the hash quality deteriorated quickly into some hastily produced clumps of inferior resins that were held together by animal fat.

In the good old days before the Russians came to Afghanistan, the breeders Neville and Shantibaba called the excellent Afghani hash “Nordle”. This strain from their “The Naturals - Old School Genetics” series is a fantastic tribute to these good old times.

Made from a genuine Afghani which they paired with a Skunk #1, this wonderful cross of old-school genetics doesn’t just bring back fantastic memories with her untainted flavour and spectacular high. With those reliable classic genetics, Nordle is also very easy to grow so that even less experienced cultivars can look forward to good results. This is a strain suitable for all sorts of growing environments, you can grow her in soil or hydro and she does well grown indoors or if you grow her outdoors. This is also an excellent strain for greenhouse grows. Some of her plants have been observed finishing flowering in a super-short 6 weeks although they will on average take 7-9 weeks which is still reasonably short.

The females of this regular strain will grow some very dense and compact super resinous buds, ensuring superb yields of up to 750g/m² in optimal conditions. But know that as with most strains that grow tightly packed nuggets she can be somewhat sensitive to mould, so make sure you have good air circulation and watch out for rain.

Nordle by Mr. Nice is a fantastic mix of old-school Afghani and Skunk genetics, and this alone could be all you need to know why you’d really want to grow this outstanding hybrid. She’s an absolutely worthy tribute to the good old days of superb hashish that connoisseurs and old schoolers in particular will without a doubt love!
