CERASTIUM
Cerastium (Cerastium biebersteinii) is a low growing short-lived ground clover with a profuse shower of white flowers in late spring and early summer. It is a rapid growing perennial that forms a thick mat of silvery grey leaves that can become invasive, so don't be shy to really hack into it if it starts to get too greedy for room.
It can be a great source of raw material for composts during its relatively short life providing a lot of foliage in a very short time. Cerastium is a great living mulch that provides dense shade for your garden soil mitigating moisture loss due to evaporation.
