ACE Seeds – Erdpurt: A reliable strain for colder climates

Erdpurt by ACE Seeds is an excellent strain for outdoor growing in colder climates, and was created by crossing Erdbeer (the Original Swiss Strawberry Clone) with Purpurea Ticinensis. Both of these strains give Erdpurt the hardiness it takes to thrive in tough climatic conditions. Purpurea Ticinensis is known for its great resilience to mould and fungus, and was stabilized over 8 years, at 1330m above sea level in the Swiss mountains.

Erdpurt has a very short flowering time of 7-8 weeks, and will reach full maturity by the end of the summer, usually in late August to early September. This strain can cope with tough weather conditions, including strong winds, rain, and low temperatures. Even a few days of frost can be overcome. It’s a pure Indica with almost no branching, very resinous buds, and multi-coloured leaves and stems. Outdoor growers in northern latitudes have just discovered a reliable partner for their next grow.

Flavours of Erdpurt can be described as a blend of freshly roasted coffee and hash, with hints of strawberry, blackberry, combined with an earthy background. There is nothing to complain regarding flavours. One compromise has to be made on THC levels though, they were tested a little low, with 8-12%. The Swiss landrace Purpurea Ticinensis isn’t particularly known for high THC levels.

Erdpurt will get everyone high without a doubt, but blossoms won’t have the sky-rocketing THC levels many strains have. Many smokers don't see this as a major drawback. Lower THC levels also means being able to smoke more, and still be in the position to actually get things done. Having large outdoor harvests of great tasting cannabis, ready by the end of the summer, doesn’t come without a small sacrifice.
