Why You Should Always Test Your Drugs

We have all been there. The festival you have been looking forward to for days, weeks or even months, is finally here! You are well prepared and bought some (at least you hope) good stuff. But, now your wondering if your drugs are truly that good...

Testing your drugs before consuming them is always a good idea. Neglecting this can expose you to serious health risks. Additives and fillers are routinely added to street drugs in order to lower the costs of production. While many of these fillers can be harmless, others may pose severe health risks. Moreover, it can keep you wasting your hard-earned money on ineffective drugs from untrustworthy sources.

Testing drugs can be quicker and easier than most people think. EZ test kits allow you to check the consistency or purity of your drugs within minutes. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DON’T TEST THE QUALITY OF YOUR DRUGS

A few years ago the Vice crew tested drugs at a popular UK music festival, finding almost all samples to contain some kind of impurity. They tested, for example, pills of a party-goer that costed £20 each that were sold to him as MDMA. After consuming them, he found out that they had no effect.

They concluded that it was almost definitely half an orange-flavoured Rennie, a heartburn pill that's never made anyone hug a complete stranger before telling them, in excruciating, emotional detail, about their parents' divorce.

Other test results were much more worrying. The dextromethorphan (DMX) found in one capsule has been known to cause heat stroke, a well-documented problem among rave-goers on ecstasy. Another sample contained traces of para-Methoxyamphetamine (PMA), a chemical that was responsible for the deaths of three British party-goers in early 2015. Meanwhile, other tests simply showed up as containing no MDMA whatsoever, leaving some to wonder what exactly they had been taking.

Cocaine cuts and cocaine purity EZ test kits were used to sample cocaine at the festival. The samples were found to be of “medium purity”, containing roughly 40% pure cocaine. Tests determined that the primary cutting agents used in these samples were benzocaine (dental numbing agent) and levamisole (livestock de-worming medication). In humans, levamisole can induce effects somewhat similar to cocaine. However, it has also been known to suppress white blood cells and contribute to skin rot. In 2014, a UK minister claimed that up to 80% of cocaine entering Britain was cut with the agent.

EZ TEST COCAINE: THREE KITS

This cocaine purity test is designed to test the purity level of your cocaine within a matter of seconds. It may not be able to tell you exactly what your stash is cut with, but it can give you a pretty good idea of how much of it is in there.

Similar to its main ingredient, crack cocaine has developed a reputation for being cut and laced with cheaper additives. This test kit will not be able to tell you exactly what you are consuming. However, it can tell you if it contains cocaine, crack cocaine, MiPT, MDPV, or 5-MeO. The test can be used similarly to the cocaine EZ test, and results should be available within seconds.

HOW DO THESE TESTS WORK?

EZ tests function by causing chemical reactions inside of their vials or tubes. A specific chemical reagent (depending on the kit) is absorbed in silica gel and placed inside the test container. If a particular substance is detected, a chemical reaction happens inside the vial, resulting in a colour change. Some kits may require you to wait a number of minutes for a colour change to fully happen. Once a colour change reaction occurs, consult the included colour chart to determine the result.
