What Is CBN Oil?
CBN oil has become a popular choice in recent years, with many users taking it daily alongside vitamins and other supplements to aid well-being. Our CBN oil is packed full of non-psychoactive cannabinoids and terpenes, so you know you're getting the best quality available. Let's take a look at what goes into our CBN oil, and what you can expect.
Because of their massive surge in popularity, it's now very common to see a range of CBN oils available to purchase. But what is CBN oil? And how does it differ from CBD and even CBG products? We take a look at all things CBN so you can be clued-up with the facts before making a purchase.
What Is CBN Oil?
Cannabinol, also known as CBN, is just one of the many cannabinoids found in Cannabis sativa. While not all present at the same time, each cannabinoid can interact with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), a series of receptors in the human body responsible for mediating a variety of functions. While the most common cannabinoids we see are THC and CBD, CBN is also a hugely popular choice, with many people looking to experience the potential benefits it has to offer.
Our CBN oil is a finely tuned product that many use as a daily supplement or meal accompaniment. Our CBN oil also features medium amounts of CBD, as well as a whole host of other cannabinoids and terpenes. This is to make use of the entourage effect, a phenomenon where different cannabis compounds synergise to produce greater effects than they would in isolation.

How Does CBN Work?
CBN, like all other cannabinoids, interacts with the body via the endocannabinoid system. There is evidence to suggest that, when ingested, CBN binds to both CB1 and CB2 receptors. These receptors monitor the immune system and areas of the brain that control memory and learning. While ongoing research into the exact therapeutic effect of CBN is still in its infancy, there's no denying that unique combinations of cannabinoids sustain notable effects on the ECS.
What Are the Effects of CBN?
Much like CBD, CBN is non-psychotropic, meaning it does not produce a high. And, like most supplements and oils, CBN oil is generally used to support well-being and a healthy lifestyle. Once ingested, the effects of CBN will begin after 30–60 minutes and last several hours.
Given CBN oil’s interaction with CB1 and CB2 receptors, it may have the potential to impact functions like appetite, sleep, immune response, and skin ageing. As mentioned, research is still being carried out into the effects of CBN, so no results are guaranteed.
How Is CBN Oil Produced?
CBN oil is produced using industry-leading techniques. This process starts with all-natural mature hemp that is checked by hand for any impurities or foreign objects. The hemp is then milled into a fine powder, which becomes subject to supercritical CO₂ extraction. This is a precision method that allows certain compounds to be isolated without damaging any others. It is an expensive and precise process, but it guarantees superior results.
Even though CBN does not cause a high, it is derived from THC. Prolonged exposure to UV light and air will transform the acidic compound THCA into CBNA. CBNA is then decarboxylated (heated) to remove the additional molecule to create CBN. These extracts are then combined with an all-natural hemp seed oil. The result is a CBN oil that is smooth and does not contain any impurities. After undergoing some final quality control checks, the CBN oil is ready to use.
How to Use CBN Oil?
CBN oil is a versatile supplement that can be used in numerous ways. Many people use the handy dropper on the bottle to administer the oil sublingually. This is a method where you place a few drops under your tongue and leave them there for a minute before swallowing. This is one of the faster ways to experience the effects of the CBN oil as it swiftly enters the bloodstream via the capillaries under the tongue.
Other ways to use CBN oil include adding a few drops to food or drink. You can add drops to a dish or a smoothie to start your day with CBN. It is worth noting that CBN oil is not suitable for use in cooking. Applying heat will have a detrimental effect and damage those delicate cannabinoids. However you decide to use your CBN oil, there is certainly no right or wrong approach. It is down to your personal preference and what works best for you. As a guideline, take 3–4 CBN oil drops up to three times a day.
Which CBN Oil Percentage Is Best?
There are many areas to consider when choosing your CBN oil, but there is no percentage or concentration that is “better” than the other. CBN oil is currently available in two different variations: 2.5% CBN + 2.5% CBD, and 5% CBN + 2.5% CBD. However, it is often advised (as with any new supplement or oil) to start with a lower-strength oil first. You can always increase the concentration from there.
Whichever variety of CBN oil you choose, you can rest assured you are getting a product of the highest possible quality. Not only do our CBN oils contain a full spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes, but they are also packed with antioxidants, protein, and omega fatty acids.
Combining CBN With Other Cannabinoids
As CBN oil does not cause psychotropic side effects, you have the option of combining it with other cannabinoids, such as CBD and CBG, without any detrimental effects. Of course, it’s all a matter of experimentation, and you should always proceed slow and with caution when combining different cannabinoids.
All that said, the exact cannabinoid combos you opt for are entirely up to you. You can even mix CBN oil with THC if you so choose, but be aware that this will induce some psychoactive effects. Ultimately, just be sure to keep track of your daily intake of CBN in mg. This will give you a better idea of where you started and where you’re headed.
How to Store CBN Oil?
Once opened, storing your CBN oil is, thankfully, an easy task. As it’s perishable, keep your CBN oil in a cool, dark place such as a fridge or cupboard. Keeping the bottle out of direct sunlight will allow the oil to maintain its integrity. Just make sure you give the bottle a shake before each use. CBN oil has a standard shelf life of six months. Each bottle is printed with a date code, so don't worry about having to remember exactly when you opened it.
Is CBN Oil Safe?
Our CBN oil is free from harmful or harsh chemicals. Not only this, but each batch is routinely and thoroughly tested. This way, you can purchase with the knowledge that you are receiving a high-quality product. CBN oil is completely safe to consume. However, there can be some mild side effects associated with its use.
While these side effects are uncommon, we recommend that anyone experiencing them should stop taking CBN oil immediately. Side effects are not long-lasting and will pass in a few hours, should you experience them. Side effects can be the result of your body not being accustomed to the effects of CBN. To counter this, you can start with smaller doses of CBN oil and build up from there. If you have any concerns or are unsure of the effect CBN oil may have on your body, consult a doctor or medical specialist to see if CBN oil is suitable for you.
