Zamnesia - Gunpowder Tea: From the Tang Dynasty to Today
Hailing from the Zhejiang Providence of China, gunpowder tea comes from the Camellia sinensis plant. Though its use dates all the way back to the Tang Dynasty, gunpowder tea is still appreciated in modern times! Not only is it extremely aromatic, but it contains a range of chemical constituents that may benefit well-being.
Our gunpowder tea is available in pellet form, but these shapes are merely created by tightly rolling the withered leaves into small balls and then drying them. All that's left to do is steep these pellets in hot water and watch as they quickly unfurl, releasing all of their tasty flavours into the water. While gunpowder tea has a nutty and smoky-like flavour, this can be offset by adding a little honey. Moreover, you can always blend up your gunpowder tea and add it to smoothies and other dishes.
