Zamnesia cempaka essential oil is carefully crafted using 100% cempaka (Magnolia champaca) oil. Native to Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and other parts of South and Southeast Asia, cempaka is a large evergreen tree that produces beautifully fragrant white flowers. In the wild, cempaka trees can grow up to 50 metres tall and develop up to 2 metre-thick stems. Their flowers bloom from June to September, taking on beautiful soft white/cream-colours and emitting a rich perfume.

Cempaka fragrances are traditionally used in worship ceremonies throughout its native regions. The tree is particularly significant to Hinduism and Theravada Buddhism, where it is said to help achieve Bodhi (enlightenment). Its flowers can be found floating in bowls and basins in homes and temples all throughout regions like Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and more. Cempaka flowers are also used in wedding celebrations, worn as a headdress, and used in garlands. In 1929, Jean Patou launched the landmark fragrance Joy using champaca.

How to Use Cempaka Essential Oil

All Zamnesia essential oils are designed to be used for aromatherapy in diffusers or oil burners. Simply add 3–5 drops of cempaka essential oil to the water of your diffuser/burner and enjoy as the room fills with this plant's unique sweet and floral fragrance.
