T.H.Seeds - Black Apple Hitchcock: A Resinous Beauty
T.H.Seeds first released a regular version of Black Apple Hitchcock, and it became so popular that they simply had to create its feminized sister. Deriving from a cross of Grape OG and Sour Apple IBL, this variety is a 60% sativa and 40% indica, and promises an easygoing project. Even beginner growers will be able to achieve satisfying hauls of shiny, colourful buds. Plants reach manageable heights, and it's easy to process the flowers come harvest time.
Black Apple Hitchcock produces robust plants with good resistance to mould and pests. They are responsive to training and can become nice and chunky if topped a few times. Overall, they exhibit good internodal spacing that allows for sufficient airflow, and specimens can get as tall as 160cm if left to their own devices. Harvest time indoors is after 8–9 weeks of flowering, and an attentive hand can get a rewarding 450–600g/m².
When it comes to terpene profile, Black Apple Hitchcock's parent strains were really generous. This variety proudly mixes delicious and creamy flavours of candy, apple, and gelato. It will definitely work well in baked goods, complementing sweet creations beautifully. It's a mellow strain when it comes to effects; a few tokes, and you'll be relaxed from head to toe. At the same time, you'll sense a notable, but not overwhelming, cerebral boost. Gear up for inspiration and increased creativity.

Love at Second Sight
I had a few initial problems with the Black Apple Hitchcock. I don't know why, but it became a hermaphrodite. At first I wanted to throw it away. I separated it from my other plants and put it outside and removed all the pollen sacs and bananas. After 1.5 weeks, no new pollen sacs had formed and I decided to put it back in the tent for the last 4 weeks of flowering. That was the best decision. Although the yield from the 1.5 weeks outside was a little less than expected, 55 grams is really OK. I have to say that after repotting the plant into 15 litre pots, I only gave it 2 weeks for the vegetative phase and then sent it straight into flowering. I let the plant grow in the traditional way without topping and without LST. The growth is small and stocky. The colour changes to a deep black purple in the last 3 weeks. Beautiful. The buds are very compact and hard. The taste is fantastic. It tastes like spicy candied apple. The high is very pleasant. You slowly slip into a wonderful state of relaxation without feeling knocked out. I would say it is perfect for an evening on the couch, but also a great strain for hanging out with friends. I would grow it again at some point.
