Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) is an old Germanic ritual herb, sacred to the goddess Hertha. The herb used to be hung outside houses as a protection against witches and evil. Nice relaxing tea
I'm a big fan of herbal teas and often bought teabags with a bit of valerian root in them amongst other herbs, but nice to be able to buy pure valerian root and control the amount myself. Personally I quite like the taste of the tea, and seems relaxing enough in a mild, herbal tea kinda way.
